Mandy Bingham writes her songs very much from the heart. With her acoustic guitar and her wealth of life experience, she creates beautifully formed lyrics and melodies. Her voice is pure and strong and can't help but make an emotional connection to the listener.
Mandy first took to the stage with her self-penned songs in 2013, and since then things have been moving quickly and she now has a firm and loyal following in the UK.
Hailing from the North Coast of Ireland, Mandy is the eldest daughter of singer songwriter David McWilliams (Day’s of Pearly Spencer). Her mother Gil McWilliams was also involved in the folk music scene in the 60’s and 70’s. This cultural and family heritage is inherent in her songwriting.
Mandy's debut EP Mandy Bingham Vol. 1 was released on 1st June 2015. Vol.1 was recorded at Millbank Studio and produced by Michael Mormecha who also plays various instruments throughout. “The Chicken song” features special guest Colin Henry on Weissenborn guitar and some dark, melodic electronica is added courtesy of Ryan Vail’s remix of “If This Is Love”. Mandy is also accompanied by her husband Graham, who sings harmonies, plays acoustic guitar and lap steel guitar. Graham also has an integral role in the arrangement and development of new songs.
During the first half of 2016, Mandy is on tour with “Songs From The Heart”, a show featuring three of Northern Ireland’s leading singer songwriters performing “in the round” The show tours arts centres and theatres around Northern Ireland.
Throughout the rest of 2016 Mandy will continue to work on new material in preparation for her debut album, scheduled to be released in the spring of 2017.
